Welcome to the stingray's blog.
Coach Jodi here!
I am so proud of my little (and big) swimmers!
Coaching you guys is such a joy!
I want to open a line of communication where everyone can go to get the latest information on what is going on with the Foresthill Stingray's.
This blog will be updated on a regular basis, going over items like practice changes and anything I need to tell you.
Practice Schedule
Rain or Shine!
There was a bit of confusion as to whether there was practice when it was raining. Our pool was 80 degrees, we had 2 families show up for swim practice on Monday, we had to cancel the other practices for not enough show. In the future please know that we have practice whether it is raining or not. (it was actually kind of fun to swim in the rain) the only thing that will cancel a practice is lighting. (not safe!!)
Practice
Please arrive at the practice time and have your swimmers ready to swim.
It is not fair to the swimmers who work so hard when there are swimmers who play or hang out at the wall, if your child is not swimming they will be asked to leave the pool.
I am asking the parents to back me up on this, the harder we work the better results we will see at the meets!
There has been a bit of confusion as to the practice schedule
Please try and be on time to practice, if your child is late it throws off the flow of the practice.
NOTE: If you can I recommend that all swimmers attend BOTH practices. The morning and afternoon practices are different and cover different things. EVERYONE needs to work on stroke development. As a reward the kids that show up to the most practices get more say on the events they swim in.
AM Practice
8-10am
We where starting at 8-845 for the little ones but we only have had 2 show up.
So I am now starting practice at 8am for everyone!
There will be a different work out every day and because we are so limited in time, please be on time and have your child prepared to swim.
PM Practice
4-6:30
4-5:30 - The designated practice. (on the board) Have your child look at the practice board when they arrive. (It will be different every day) Warm up is the same everyday (10 laps freestyle)
5:30-6:30
This is the designated time where the coach works with the swimmers to improve the finer part of their strokes, turns, diving and more. All swimmers need this, so please try and have your swimmer there during this time.
